1st Commercial Blog as a Service to help Client get Products to California Wildfire Victims

November 5th, 2007 by admin

We’re doing our first ‘ghost-writing’ of a blog on behalf of a client. The client has a cartoon character called “V-man” and that’s our moniker on the Vaportek Blog at http://blog.Vaportek.com

Vaportek makes a smoke remediation product that is cost-effective and a safer (for humans, pets and plants) alternative to use than some competitive products.

We discussed the product at length with our client. They’ve experienced a significant increase in sales to restoration and remediation product distributors in the Southwest USA, and to restoration and remediation service providers who are busy helping to elimate smoke smells in the areas of California ravaged by wildfires.

Our discussion centered on getting the word out but not appearing as though we were at all pleased that this area had been hit hard by a natural disaster. We came to the conclusion that we need to be sensitive to the situation, and that it is important to publicize Vaportek’s products because they are competitively positioned for effectiveness, price and safety, and that making more of Vaportek’s smoke odor removal products available would be a positive service to provide in the aftermath of the California fires.

The headline of Vaportek’s first blog reads:

Our Sympathies to California Wildfire Victims

We are careful to start and end with our sympathies for the victims of these fires - and we know those sympathies are heartfelt from Vaportek and from us at OnYourMark, LLC.

It is a pleasure to have read a couple of books and scores, perhaps hundreds of articles on blogging, and to have posted hundreds of times on the subject in Forums and blogs to prepare to render this assistance to our client - and via them to the people in homes and businesses affected by the fires in California.

Keith

I got the following info from my friend, Dave, who posted this at another Forum of mine, WebLoggers.Org Just called myself and it sounds more than legit. For emphasis: I’m NOT trying to promote smoking to anyone here. I am a heavy cigar smoker myself, but I don’t wish the habit on anyone. I chose the sleeping bag. Copyscape - protect your blog from plagiarism

February 18th, 2007 by admin

I found a neat tool today. I’ll post this in free resources, too.

The web-based tool is Copyscape, located at http://www.copyscape.com/

The free version offers you the chance to enter a URL to find out if others are copying your content. I suppose you could do the same with search engines, but this one comes back with a copy of the page with the same content highlighted.

The site offers banners to protect your site from plagiarism (an ounce of protection being worth a pound of cure). The Global Web Rights page offers advice on preventing, detecting and responding to plagiarism.

A paid service actively seeks out potential plagiarism for you.

Keith

TheBubbler Forums - Cookin’ with gas

February 11th, 2007 by admin

Got on the computer about 8:30 this morning. A leisurely Sunday. Check in at theBubbler.com, our Wisconsin online community for a few minutes, read the Sunday paper, then maybe catch up on email while I watch an old movie on TNT…or so I thought.

I got caught up in the Forums at theBubbler. The forums were at about 1,500 posts a year ago. 6,000 a couple of months ago. 8,000 about ten days ago. Nearly 8,400 tonite. Kewl. We’ve got veterans and relative newbs alike posting like crazy. Fun stuff. Intense stuff. Wisconsin stuff. Good stuff. I’m pleased with the humor and civility there, too. So, twelve hours after getting on theBubbler I finally got off to come on over here and visit a few other sites for awhile. Glad for the time there, though.

Keith
